Attitudes & Behaviors Survey

In order to gain a better understanding of student attitudes and actions relating to at-risk behaviors, Brookfield CARES and the Brookfield Public Schools survey students in grades ranging from 6 to 12 every few years. We’ve surveyed students 6 times since 2009.

The survey — developed by Search Institute and taken by millions of students — provides data in a wide range of areas including alcohol and drug use, depression and suicide, gambling, vaping (for the first time), and more.

Developmental Assets

Brookfield CARES and the Brookfield Public Schools work together in a variety of ways, including surveying attitudes and behaviors of students in grades 7–12. The survey we use was developed by Search Institute. This provides us with regular feedback that allows for data-driven decisions on how to best approach these complex and ever changing issues.

Community Reports

The focus of Brookfield CARES was an interactive discussion with members of the community on how we can collectively build the developmental relationships with our youth that research shows will foster thriving behaviors and lessen high-risk behavior patterns.

Positive Assets in the Schools

While we are working to increase assets within our community, we know that there are a lot of important efforts currently under way. Click here to see a list of activities with the Brookfield schools that are an important part of asset building.
